3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• respond to inquiries and prepare lighting plans, photometrics, fixture schedules and quotes;
• provide, source and support the products and services you request, including coordinating with manufacturers, suppliers and members of your project team;
• review trade partner applications and manage trade accounts, pricing and project registration;
• send service messages about your request or project;
• send occasional updates about our services where the law allows (you can opt out at any time);
• understand and improve the Site and our services;
• protect the security of the Site and prevent fraud and abuse; and
• comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Use, and establish or defend legal claims.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share it only as follows:

• Service providers that host the Site or process information for us, such as Webflow (website hosting and form processing), Google (analytics and web fonts), Tally (forms on certain pages), and our email, file-storage and productivity tools. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
• Project partners. When needed to deliver what you ask for, we may share relevant project details with manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and independent partners such as low-voltage systems integrators. If we bring a partner into your project, we will let you know.
• Legal and safety reasons, such as complying with law or legal process, or protecting the rights, property or safety of Gridspec, our clients or others.
• Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this Privacy Policy.
• With your consent or at your direction.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure Site traffic and the interactions described in Section 2. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers, and Google’s handling of that data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings.

Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts and images from third-party content delivery networks, which receive your IP address in order to deliver that content. As of the date above, we do not use advertising cookies on the Site.

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no common standard for how to respond to them, the Site does not currently respond to those signals.

6. Phone calls and text messages

If you give us your phone number, we may call or text you about your request or project. We will not send you marketing text messages unless you have separately given us your express written consent, and consent is never a condition of buying anything from us. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.

7. Email

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Even if you unsubscribe, we may still send messages about an active request or project.

8. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purposes in this Privacy Policy, such as the life of a project and any related support or warranty period, and as required for legal, tax, accounting and record-keeping purposes. We periodically review and delete or de-identify information we no longer need, including plan submissions that do not become projects.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send highly sensitive information through Site forms.

10. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, update or delete personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for marketing, by emailing admin@gridspeclighting.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law. Some state laws give residents additional privacy rights; where those laws apply to us, we will honor requests as they require. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

11. Children

The Site is intended for adults and professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Visitors outside the United States

We are based in the United States and the Site is intended for visitors in the United States. Information we collect is stored and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and if the changes are significant we will provide a more prominent notice on the Site. Changes take effect when posted.
